Dear Members

This is a new season newsletter to remind you of some of the club’s dates and to inform you of some of the decisions taken at the club AGM.

Chairman’s Address

“The expectations for the 2004/05 season are high with Emma Hendry taking on the Junior Club supported by Rashmi Chanarana and Andy Cheuk. There appears to be a very strong pool of players pushing for places in the teams so the Selection Committee will have a hard job and at last some of us older players may need to get a bit fitter to chase the places.

I am looking forwards to this season and am hoping that we can once again make Loughborough Badminton Club both the strongest club in Leicestershire as well as being a very friendly club that players of all standards can be welcomed and enjoy the game.

The Summer Club night on Fridays has been very successful and enjoyable with fifteen to twenty five players attending. We attracted a number of players from other clubs such as Melton, the University and even County first team players. While there was a strong Junior presence our Ladies were sadly missed. However, a major plus is that there has been a number of good standard new club members for the up and coming season.
